BARS AND NIGHT CLUBS URGED TO SOUNDPROOF THEIR PREMISES

The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has received overwhelming complaints regarding noise pollution from establishments such as bars and night clubs playing loud music.

The Council in its one of the recent Management sittings resolved that all bars, night clubs, and liquor licensed premises must ensure their premises are fully soundproofed.

The Local Authority has guided that in the meantime, all establishments must not play loud music after 22:00hours.

It is worth noting that noise pollution has severe effects on our communities, which include hearing loss, stress, anxiety, depression, cardiovascular problems and high blood pressure.

We urge all affected businesses to take immediate action to comply with this directive. Failure to do so may result in closure, revocation, or reclassification of licenses.
