A Wildcat like animal has been stoned to death by a group of children from Mazabuka’s Highlanders area in Chilala Farms.
The animal was spotted in tree branches by one of the children while hunting for birds in the bushes.
According to a narration from one of the lads, the stray animal was in position to attack a bird in the tree branches when it nearly fell on top of the head of one of them.
Upon falling down from the tree, the youngsters ambushed the animal while hammering it with stones from their catapults as it tried to run towards them.
There is no report of an attack on any of the children.
