The search for Agness Bunda, the 8-year-old child from Ndeke Township who drowned in the Kafue River yesterday, has come to a tragic conclusion.

The Kitwe City Council Fire Brigade recovered her body this afternoon at 12:56 near Twin Bridge Lodge.

The body of the deceased is not maturated (it was found intact and not decomposed).

The Kitwe City Council extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Agness during this difficult time.

We urge the public to prioritize safety, especially around water bodies, to prevent similar tragedies.
