Bombo headman decries water crisis, urges vote for Joe Muchindu

Senior Headman Hambulo of Bombo area, Batoka Ward, has lamented severe water shortages affecting both residents and livestock.

Speaking during UPND Choma South parliamentary candidate Joe Muchindu’s visit to the ward, Hambulo said children trek long distances to fetch water for animals because the only dam dries up immediately after the rainy season.

“Our concerns have not been given attention by leaders,” the traditional leader said, expressing sadness over years of neglect.

Meanwhile, Muchindu said some of the area’s challenges could be addressed through the Constituency Development Fund.

He added that President Hakainde Hichilema’s government “meant well” by increasing CDF to help tackle such problems at local level.

The water crisis adds to infrastructure gaps Bombo faces since its school was upgraded from primary to secondary.
