Bwanji Digital Creative Agency on 31st March 2021 hosted a free online webinar under the theme “Understanding and Combatting Cyberbullying
Zambia is facing several forms of cybercrime on the internet. Social media, especially Facebook, are part of the problem. Crimes include libel, fake news, cyberbullying, hate speech and sexual harassment.
Speaking during the webinar, the Founder of Zambia bloggers Network Brenda Zulu explained that Parents need to censor the content that their kids are accessing online. Brenda Nglazi Zulu who is also a Digital Rights defender and protector of human rights online mentioned that the enactment of the cyber bill into law is a step in the right direction and hoped the law will bring sanity to the way the internet is used in Zambia.
And a renowned ICT Trainer Albert Zulu emphasized that creating awareness about cyber security and cyber law is a shared responsibility. He further noted that looking for solutions to prevent cyberbullying is the best way to combat cyber-crime.
