The daring act of trying to steal a vehicle parked at a police station ended tragically with the alleged thief being shot dead in Kitwe.

The unidentified criminal stole Toyota Corolla on Monday together with his friend, who managed to escape from the police.

This was at Chiwempala Police Station, where the owner, Michael Muzolo, had parked it.

When Mr Muzolo went back to pick the car yesterday, he discovered that the car was not there, which made him report the matter to the police.
