CDF BURSARIES INCREASES ENROLLMENT AT SKILLS CENTRES AND COLLEGES UNDER THE MINISTRY OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICES

Enrollment of students under the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services run skills training centres, have increased, due to the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), bursaries.

The bursaries have therefore resulted into more community members enrolling at the Kitwe Community Development Staff Training College, and other Ministry run skills training institutions across the country.

Director for Community Development, Ms. Patricia Muyamwa, is happy that the Kitwe college, has since increased its enrollment levels from 110 in 2020, to the current 181.

She made the remarks yesterday, when she officiated at the 46th graduation ceremony, at the Kitwe Community Development Staff Training College, were 95 students, out of which 71 females, and 24 males, graduated with Certificates and Diplomas in Community Development.

Ms. Muyamwa is pleased that the Kitwe college has extended its boundaries in the area of training under the CDF,in line with President Hakainde Hichilema’s commitment to prioritize human development through education and skills development.

She therefore urged members of the public to take advantage of the CDF to enroll for training at all skills centres and colleges under the Ministry, dotted around the country in order to aquire life changing skills that will contribute to national development.

Ms.Muyamwa is further encouraged that the Kitwe college has embarked on various income generating activities such as commercialized village and meat production, which she said is complimenting government’s efforts in running the college and also promoting self reliance at the learning institution.

And to the graduating students, Ms. Muyamwa urged them to remain focused, steadfast and ethical, as they pursue their various ambitions in life.

“Challenges may come your way, but nevertheless, remain steadfast, believing that you shall overcome them as you have proved it by successfully completing your studies”, she said, and further thanked all sponsors, college management, and all stakeholders that made the graduation a success.

And Wusakile Constituency CDF committee Vice Chairperson, Mr. Innocent Mwansa, pledged, to continue pushing the agenda of promoting skills development in the community by supporting infrastructure development that will increase intake of new students.
