The opposition United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ) has paid six months of rental fees for a bereaved family in Kalumbila whose relative was killed by a mob.
The rent is for immediate relief pending UPPZ President Charles Chanda’s pledge to build a house for them in a place of their choice and to employ the deceased woman’s eldest daughter.
Chanda explained that the assistance was intended to ease their financial burden during this difficult period.
He called for compassion and practical empowerment to guide leadership responses in times of tragedy.
Chanda added that the gesture was meant to provide stability and dignity to the affected household.
