The Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) has officially announced the death of Mr. Frank Chileshe, the father of popular Zambian music star Obed Chileshe, widely known as Chile One MrZambia.
In a statement released on 12th May 2026, ZAM revealed that Mr. Chileshe died this afternoon after suffering a short illness, sending shockwaves across the Zambian music fraternity and among fans of the award-winning artiste.
ZAM expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended heartfelt condolences to Chile One MrZambia, the entire Chileshe family, relatives, and friends during this painful time.
“ZAM stands in solidarity with Chile One and his family. We recognize Mr. Chileshe’s role in raising and supporting one of Zambia’s most loved voices, and we honor his memory with the respect he deserves,” the statement read.
The association further encouraged fellow musicians and members of the public to offer prayers and support to the grieving family.
