Chilengedwe has received a micro grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies, facilitated by the efforts of the Lusaka Mayor, Ms Chilando Chitangala and Lusaka City Council in collaboration with Youth Climate Action Fund (YCAF) and United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG).

The $50,000 grant awarded through the initiative of the Mayor of Lusaka through Lusaka city council and its partners is spread across 11 youth-led climate action beneficiaries meant for climate change initiatives.

Under the youth lead project leads of Anita, Musokela and Kafula, alongside their fiscal lead and overall programs coordinator Chisoni, Chilengedwe is spearheading climate change education, advocacy, tree planting and waste recycling.

They have since launched workshops, conducted tree-planting activities, and organized sensitization campaigns across Lusaka.

Their recent efforts began at Muyooma Primary School, where they planted trees, with plans to expand to Olympia School, New Ngombe School, and other constituencies in the city.

The grant underscores Chilengedwe’s commitment to fostering environmental awareness and action among Lusaka’s youth, ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
