A 37-year-old woman from the Chinsali District died after she was shot several times by an unknown person as she was going to collect report forms for her children in the company of her friend.
According to Police Memory Nakamba mentioned the name “Joseph” before dying, as she shouted “Ba Joseph Mwanjipa meaning Joseph you’ve killed me” narrated her friend Gertrude Nakawala who was in her company.
Nakawala’s efforts to get the attention of other community members proved futile as the victim died before she could be attended to.

In a statement, Muchinga Province Police deputy commissioner, Ronald Zambo explains that the incident that occured on Friday in Katondo village is about 3 kilometres away from the Great North Road.
Mr Zambo says Police found the body lying lifeless with multiple gunshot wounds.
He says community members handed over a 23-year-old man also named Joseph to the Police as the prime suspect and is currently detained in Police custody.
