Independent aspiring Parliamentary candidate Captain Towani Chipeta appealed to the people of Chasefu not to lose hope following the recent delimitation that split the district into Chasefu North and Chasefu South.
Chipeta, who is standing in Chasefu North, acknowledged the emotional toll of the division, describing it as feeling like “a part of her has been taken away.”
She emphasised her commitment to ensuring equal development across both constituencies.
Chipeta explained that she accepted the delimitation in the interest of development because the government’s decision was not arrived at lightly.
She stressed that the division will not take away from her efforts to ensure uniform development in Chasefu District as a whole.
Chipeta encouraged residents to turn out in large numbers and support her vision of a unified Chasefu, pledging to unveil a candidate under the “Towani” banner in Chasefu South.
She insisted that development must not be fragmented by political boundaries.
