President Hakainde Hichilema says cleaning up the economic mess created by the previous government is costly but the New Dawn government has a checklist of programmes and activities to implement in reorganising the country’s development agenda.

The President compared the last 10 years of PF misrule to draining water out of a pond and expecting the fish to survive.

“Some people thought the China-Zambia relationship was frosty but we didn’t respond to such noise since we are too focused,” he said during the China-Zambia High-Quality Development Forum yesterday.

“We agreed with our colleagues from China that 2024 will be there to deliver… because nothing comes up without planning, hence having a methodical way of doing things.

And you don’t listen to noise makers when leading people since you have to focus and remain on course.”
