A 14-year-old girl from Chuula Area in Mazabuka had her pregnancy aborted by family members after it was discovered that she had been allegedly defiled overtime by her 41-year-old uncle.

Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, explains that on 11th January, 2024, Officers visited the victim’s house after an earlier report and brought her to Nkabika Police Post in Zambia Sugar Estate area.
Daka says the victim narrated at the station in the presence of her aunty that in November, 2023 at unknown date at around 1930 hours when she was coming from bathing within the house, the uncle dragged her to his bedroom and forced himself on her.
This was after the aunty was out of town in Lusaka on church programs.
The victim stated that the uncle threatened to KÏLL her if she disclosed the incident to anyone.
Daka says family members discovered that she was pregnant by her uncle and decided to terminate her pregnancy.
She was given the abortion pill on 10th January, 2024, which she took and later bled.
Daka says a medical report form was issued but no arrest has been made yet, with the victim taken to a safer place by the Department of Social Welfare.
