AMERICAN singer-songwriter and pastor Don Moen has urged Christians not to attempt to make the Gospel sound sexy and more appealing and instead deliver it just the way it is.
Mr Moen, known for the Hosanna! Music series of worship albums, says Jesus Christ attracted prostitutes and other sinners by being real and not trying to impress.
“Keep it real, authentic and sincere,” he said yesterday ahead of the Love Zambia Festival set for Heroes Stadium in Lusaka this weekend.
“Don’t try to make it strange. People try to add to the Gospel to make it appealing to people. There is nothing more appealing than the simple Gospel of Christ. When Jesus was doing His ministry, He was out in the marketplace where the people were and guess who was attracted to Him, it was sinners and the prostitutes.
