Aspiring UPND Monze Central Parliamentary Candidate Elvis Mainza says the school feeding programme is a vital initiative that ensures children attend school regularly.

Mainza explains that the programme reduces absenteeism by providing meals which encourage learners to remain in class.

He notes that the initiative not only supports education but also improves nutrition among school-going children.

Mainza said this when he engaged women at an under-five clinic in Kazungula, Hantontola and Namuseba.

The UPND Monze Central Parliamentary Candidate emphasises that the feeding programme helps prevent malnutrition and related diseases.

He points out that by keeping children healthy and in school, the programme contributes to building a stronger future for communities.

Mainza highlights that free education under President Hakainde Hichilema complements the feeding programme by allowing girls who had dropped out due to pregnancies to return to school.

He remarks that such combined efforts strengthen the fight against school dropouts and early pregnancies.

The candidate also acknowledges the role of breastfeeding mothers, stating that their care nurtures both children and the future of society.

He urges women to report cases of child defilement, early pregnancies, and challenges affecting children with disabilities, assuring them that support is available.

Mainza encourages women to participate actively in national development, stressing that their involvement is essential for sustaining programmes that benefit future generations.
