LUSAKA, Zambia – Film producer David Kazadi and model Mwaka Halwindi have appeared before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court facing charges related to the alleged production and possession of pornographic materials.
The duo appeared alongside co-accused Ruby Muzandu, who is facing separate charges of allegedly circulating and possessing obscene materials.
According to court documents, Muzandu is accused of distributing the alleged pornographic content through a WhatsApp group known as “Trip to South Africa” and being in possession of the same materials.
The three accused persons are alleged to have committed the offences in Lusaka between January 2023 and June 2025.
The matter was brought before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court where the accused persons appeared to answer to the charges.
Under Zambian law, the production, possession, and distribution of obscene or pornographic materials are criminal offences that may attract penalties upon conviction.
The case has attracted significant public interest due to the profiles of some of the individuals involved and the growing debate surrounding the circulation of explicit content on social media and messaging platforms.
The court is expected to continue handling the matter in subsequent proceedings as investigations and legal processes unfold.
