Espionage-charged businessman Sedrick Kasanda has been sued for non-payment of over US$15,000 for the supply and installation of aluminium windows, doors and glass at his Ibex Hill house.
Alumen Fabricators has asked the Lusaka High Court to order the detained businessman to immediately pay US$15,132, which is money outstanding for services rendered to Kasanda at his residence.
“The plaintiff entered into a verbal agreement with the defendant on or before January 18, 2021 for the plaintiff to fabricate and install aluminium windows, doors and glass at the residence of the defendant for the sum of US$60,000,” the statement of claim reads.
Alumen has submitted that Kasanda, despite executing numerous agreements with the company to settle the outstanding balance, has neglected, failed and refused to pay U$15,132 for the services.
“The plaintiff will aver that the defendant has been evasive and has wilfully neglected and failed to pay the balance due to the plaintiff,” the claim reads in part.
Alumen Fabricators now wants the court to order the embattled defendant to pay the outstanding US$15,132.
The plaintiff, through lawyers Messrs D M Sichombo, is also demanding interest at the current bank lending rate from the date of the writ until the date of payment.
Kasanda, 33, is appearing in different courts charged with espionage and aggravated robbery.
