First Lady, MUTINTA HICHILEMA, says child marriage is a serious matter of concern that needs to be fought and ended through conceited efforts from all stakeholders.
Addressing learners and various stakeholders in Kazungula district, on Ending Child Marriage, Mrs. HICHILEMA, encouraged all community, religious and traditional leaders to take lead in the fight against child marriage.
Mrs. HICHILEMA says Kazungula district was chosen to host the End Child Marriage Programme launch for Southern province, because it is one of the hot spots of child marriage, and among the leading in HIV statistics in the region.
Speaking at the same event, Gender Permanent Secretary, MAINGA KABIKA, warned perpetrators and anyone aiding children into marriages of stern punishment.
