A Health Expert from Choma has disclosed that most flavored condoms are not meant for penetrative sex but oral sex, evident in them having little to no lubricants.
Dr. Esnert Musonda, a medical graduate from Turkiye, tells BYTA FM News that over the recent past, citizens have developed an addiction to using flavored condoms for penetrative sex, which are mostly designed for oral sex.
She explains that some flavored condoms sold in pharmacies, among others, lack sufficient lubricants as they are not meant for penetrative sex but for oral sex, which is also common.
She has advised citizens to stick to lubricated condoms, mostly provided for free by the Ministry of Health, for safe sex.
She said the reason why condoms are flavored is to ensure that users are not distracted by any smells from the genitals.
However, most people spoken to by BYTA FM News in the Central Business District expressed shock that most flavored condoms are not meant for penetrative sex but oral.
They have since called on the Ministry of Health to give a clearer position on the matter.
