A driver and 46 passengers who were on board a Scania Bus belonging to Oasis escaped unhurt when the vehicle caught fire and burnt completely.

The incident occurred on 29th August, 2024 around 07:30 hours along Nakatindi road about 12 kilometers west of Kazungula.

Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, notes that the fire started from the right inner rear tyre, with some passengers losing their luggage in the inferno.

The driver of the bus has been named as 48-year-old Darius Chilonge of Garden House in Lusaka.
