GREEN Party President, Peter Sinkamba, has predicated an upward adjustment in fuel pump prices for December, 2023, when the Energy Regulation Board-ERB makes an announcement.
Sinkamba tells Byta FM News in an interview that the sustained poor performance of the Kwacha in November, 2023, will increase the cost of ordering petroleum products from the international market.
He suggests capacitating the TAZAMA Oil Pipeline as a solution that may help contain the rise in the price of fuel in the country.
Meanwhile, Financial Management Expert, Dr. Cleopas Moono, has advised Government to revert to quarterly review of fuel pump prices.
He says doing so will give long term planning stability to business entities, hence, households.
Pump prices for Petrol, Diesel, Jet A-1 and Kerosene for November, 2023, had remained the same as those for October, 2023.
Petrol is currently selling at K29.98, Diesiel at K26.96, Jet A-1 at K29.29 and Kerosene at K20.44 per litre.
