GOVERNMENT PAYS TRIBUTE TO AGRICULTURAL ECONOMIST LEWIS BANGWE FOR BUILDING CLASSROOM BLOCK

Government has paid tribute to Agricultural Economist Lewis Bangwe for constructing a 1 by 2 classroom block at Mupamadzi Primary School in Lavushimanda District, Muchinga Province, using personal resources worth over K500,000.

Lavushimanda District Commissioner Terry Kunda stated that Mr. Bangwe’s community service aligns with the Government’s vision to expand classroom space following the Free Education Policy.

Mr. Kunda thanked Mr. Bangwe for empowering the community where he began his education in Grade 1.

He noted that such a gesture is unprecedented in the District and has left a lasting impression in Lavushimanda.

The Senior Government Official emphasized that Mr. Bangwe’s actions demonstrate the importance of giving back when one is blessed.

Mr. Kunda highlighted that while Mr. Bangwe’s family sacrificed for his education, he chose to empower society for the betterment of humanity.

Meanwhile, Agricultural Economist Lewis Bangwe mentioned that the resources he used were personal, supplemented by contributions from other former Mupamadzi pupils.

And, another former Pupil, Esby Mambwe, donated 20 desks, inspired by Mr. Bangwe’s initiative.
