Ministry of Information and Media today received a courtesy call from Multichoice Zambia Limited, led by newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Averess Chela Ndhlovu.
Permanent secretary Thabo Kawana said the purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the partnership between the Government and the digital satellite television provider, with a focus on delivering value to the Zambian people.
Kawana conveyed the sentiments of citizens regarding high subscription rates and the need to address the repetition of programmes.
While applauding the company’s commitment to promoting homegrown talent and increasing local content, Kawana requested that Multichoice deepen local content creation across all provinces to ensure Zambia’s diverse culture is fully represented.
“The Ministry also called for collaboration between Multichoice Zambia and the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS), which has an extensive reach across the country,” he said
Meanwhile, Ndhlovu assured that Multichoice remains committed to working with the Government to expand local content production and improve service delivery to subscribers.
She added that the company would review feedback on pricing and programming and explore ways to enhance its offering in Zambia.
