GREEN PARTY CHALLENGES GOVT TO IMPLEMENT CANNABIS ACT

Green Party President Peter Sinkamba has challenged the government to implement the Cannabis Act number 33 and Industrial hemp Act number 34 of 2021.

This follows the destruction of 3.8 tonnes of Cannabis by the Drug Enforcement Commission on Friday morning.

He says sending people to jail because of the government’s reluctance to implement laws around cannabis is not the way to go about it.

Mr. Sinkamba who is also the People’s Party Alliance Interim Chairman has observed that the destroyed 3.8 tonnes of cannabis by DEC would have been used for medicinal purposes.
