A Mazabuka woman has told the District Magistrate Court that her husband had carnal knowledge of her 12-year-old daughter on three occasions.
Choolwe Cheelo told the court that her daughter had narrated to her that she had some discharge on her private part after she took a bath preparing to go to the hospital as she was unwell
The woman said after visiting the hospital with her daughter, and having some examinations done on the girl, she was informed that her daughter had been abused severally by an elderly person and she was infected with some Sexually Transmitted Diseases – STDs.
She said she got the shock of her life after interrogating the girl, who told her that it was her stepdad who severally told her to take off her pant and have sexual intercourse with her when her mother was working at night.
The woman narrated that she became speechless after hearing from her daughter.
This is in a matter where Rambo Muzyamba is charged with the offence of Defilement on a Child contrary to Section 138 (1) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Particulars are that Rambo Muzyamba on dates unknown, but between 23rd March, 2024 and 25th March, 2024, had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16.
The matter has since been adjourned to 6th June, 2024 for continuation of trial.
