Insaka Yelala has appointed Chief Chibale and Chief Kabamba as caretaker Chiefs in Chief Chitambo and Senior Chief Muchinda Chiefdoms respectively.
Chief Chibale, who also serves as Chairperson of the Council of Chiefs in Central Province, announced that the decision was made to ensure continuity in traditional leadership and development in the affected Chiefdoms.
He explained that the appointments follow the ongoing legal matters surrounding the leadership in the two Chiefdoms.
Chief Chibale emphasised that the general public should engage the appointed caretaker Chiefs on all traditional and developmental matters until the court cases are concluded.
This came to light during a meeting between traditional leaders and Insaka Yelala held on 17th January 2026 at Serenje Council Motel Hall.
Chiefs in attendance included His Royal Highness Chief Chibale, Chief Kabamba, and Her Royal Highness Chieftainess Serenje.
Chief Mailo was absent due to a bereavement.
