A source from Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital tells Zimoja that the former Isidingo star Darlington Michaels, famously known as Papa G was admitted this week.
A patient from the hospital adds that the medical staff on duty had to assist the veteran actor with an oxygen since he was struggling to breathe.
“Everyone in the emergency reception recognised him. He has really aged. It was sad to watch,” says the source.
An actor who used to work Michaels says the veteran actor reached out to him a few weeks ago asking for assistance because he was not feeling well.
He adds that Michaels also previously complained about not landing acting gigs.
Darlington Michaels and his family were not available for a comment when the publication reached out to him.
