A 36-year-old woman has alleged been raped by two men in Itezhi-Tezhi district, Southern province.
The incident happened today around 02:30 hours in the bush near a lodge in Itezhi-Tezhi township.
Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, AUXENSIO DAKA has confirmed, saying the woman has been hospitalised for treatment.
Mr DAKA says the suspects, one of them identified only as FRANK, are on the run, but investigations have been instituted.
He has explained that the woman and her husband were walking home to Chambondole compound, after a drinking spree, when they were waylaid and attacked.
Mr DAKA says in the process of running away, the woman and her husband went in different directions, however the assailants caught up with her and took turns to rape her.
