The OYDC Zambia Thursday afternoon was delighted to receive a donation of 26 judo mats from the Judo Association of Zambia (JAZ) to be used by the OYDC Zambia judo club named Ippon.
Association General Secretary Mabvuto Ng’uni while presenting the mats to OYDC Zambia indicated that judokas from OYDC Zambia have proven to show zeal for the sport adding that there is a need to support such talent from athletes who have a passion for the sport that is appealing to them.
OYDC Zambia programmes officer Likemore Mahunje who received the donation has paid gratitude to the Judo Association of Zambia. Mahunje says the sport of judo continues to grow at the multisports facility with over 30 judokas belonging to the OYDC Judo Club Ippon.
He has since called on other sports associations in the country to emulate the Judo Association of Zambia and consider supporting athletes and see that the development of sport at the grassroots level takes higher heights.
