Chilubi parliamentary hopeful and seasoned farmer, Christabel Kalasa, has expressed her commitment to revolutionizing the farming industry in Chilubi District, particularly in the mainland area.
With over 20 years of experience in crop production and livestock farming, Kalasa says she aims to empower local farmers with modern techniques and opportunities, transforming subsistence farming into profitable agribusiness.
“I stand as a passionate, experienced, and results-driven agricultural practitioner, ready to bring meaningful transformation to the farming industry in Chilubi District, with a special focus on the Chilubi mainland area,” she vowed.

“My expertise spans a wide range of agricultural activities. In livestock farming, I have successfully worked in goat rearing, broiler production, and layer poultry farming, demonstrating practical knowledge in sustainable animal husbandry and income-generating farming systems”.
“On the crop production side, I have extensive experience in Soya beans and maize cultivation and in horticulture, including the cultivation of chili, okra, watermelon, cucumbers, tomatoes , onions cabbages among others”
The aspiring parliamentarian stated that her diversified background in agriculture reflects her deep commitment to productive and resilient farming practices.
“I am not just a farmer, I am a leader who understands that agriculture is the backbone of Chilubi’s economy. My vision is to empower farmers with practical skills, improved farming methods, and access to better opportunities,” she pledged.
If given the opportunity to represent the people of Chilubi District, Kalasa pledged committment to driving change that will uplift farmers, strengthen food security, and create sustainable sources of income for households across the district.
“My leadership will focus on practical solutions, supporting farmers with knowledge, encouraging livestock and crop diversification, and ensuring that agriculture becomes a powerful tool for economic growth,” she said.
