Kitwe, Zambia – April 2026
A 56-year-old businessman of Bulangililo Township in Kitwe has died after reportedly collapsing shortly after engaging in a sexual act in the early hours of today.
According to ZNBC News, Copperbelt Province Police Commissioner Mwala Yuyi confirmed the incident, which was reported to Riverside Police Station around 08:00 hours.
Commissioner Yuyi identified the deceased as Geoffrey Mulenga, a resident of Bulangililo Township.
Incident Happened After Night of Drinking
Police revealed that the incident is believed to have occurred around 02:00 hours after Mr. Mulenga had been drinking beer earlier in the night.
Commissioner Yuyi stated that Mr. Mulenga was seen at BM Bar, located at Bulangililo Market, where he was in the company of his girlfriend, Sharon Mwila aged 26, and other friends.
After spending time at the bar, Mr. Mulenga reportedly hired a taxi to escort Ms. Mwila back to her home within the same township.
Collapsed Moments After Sexual Encounter
It is alleged that upon arrival at Ms. Mwila’s residence, the two proceeded to an outside toilet structure where they reportedly engaged in sexual activity.
Shortly after, Mr. Mulenga is said to have suddenly collapsed and died.
Police officers, accompanied by scenes of crime personnel, later visited the scene and found the body lying on the ground facing upwards.
No Visible Injuries Found
Commissioner Yuyi said that during the initial inspection, police did not observe any physical injuries on the deceased’s body.
The body has since been deposited at the Kitwe Teaching Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police Open Inquiry
Police have since opened an inquiry into the matter as investigations continue.
