Law enforcement agencies on Friday reportedly pounced on businessman James Ndambo’s premises in Choma where they allegedly seized seven motor vehicles.
Mr Ndambo who is Chairman of African Union Holdings became a socialite recently for his generous spending of money and holding of a prestigious Miss My Home Town beauty pageant where the winners walked away with $150,000 and $50,000 as well as brand new cars.
Sources within the security agencies have disclosed to Millennium Radio that seven vehicles were seized in an operation conducted on Friday but that the top command does not want the matter to be public.
The sources say someone from Mr Ndambo’s circles is making attempts to talk to President Hakainde Hichilema in order to have the seized properties released and for the matter not to be escalated.
Meanwhile, Southern Province acting commanding officer of police Fabian Mwaba and My Home Town spokesperson Owen Miyanza when contacted for a comment both expressed ignorance on the matter.
