Veteran Zambian musician Moses Sakala has announced that he will be off the performance scene for the next three months after suffering a serious accident at home that left him with a broken leg.
In an official statement shared with his fans and the general public, the legendary singer revealed that the incident happened when he was rushing outside and unknowingly stepped on a wet veranda.
“I was rushing outside, unaware that there was water on my veranda tiles, and unfortunately slipped and fell, resulting in a serious injury and a broken left leg,” Moses Sakala stated.
Moses Sakala Undergoes Surgery at Italian Hospital
Following the fall, Moses Sakala was rushed to Italian Hospital where he was admitted and later underwent surgery.
He confirmed that the operation was successful and that he is currently recovering under medical care while following doctors’ instructions.
“I thank God that the operation went well, and I am currently recovering under medical care while following the strict advice and guidance of my doctors,” he said.
Moses Sakala Cancels Shows and Public Engagements
Due to the injury and rehabilitation process, the veteran artist has disclosed that he will not be able to attend or perform at most upcoming engagements for approximately three months.
“As a result of this injury and the recovery process ahead, I will sadly not be able to perform or attend most public engagements for approximately the next three months,” he announced.
The musician described the moment as painful and unexpected, adding that music and performing are a major part of his life.
“This has been a very difficult and unexpected moment for me, especially because music, performing, and connecting with people are such an important part of my life,” he shared.

Despite the setback, Moses Sakala expressed gratitude to God and thanked medical personnel at Italian Hospital for their care and support.
He also appreciated his family, fellow musicians, promoters, and fans for the prayers and encouragement.
“I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Italian Hospital, my family, fellow artists, friends, promoters, and all my supporters for the prayers, messages, calls, and love shown to me during this time,” he said.
