The Likuumbi lya mize cultural association fundraising dinner dance that was scheduled to take place today Friday has been postponed to a later date.
Cultural association’s national chairman Isaac Kanguya said the postponement has been necessited by the passing on of former President Edgar Lungu who died yesterday in South Africa.
Kanguya told journalists this morning at a press briefing that cancellation of the event is out of respect your for the former head of state.
He said new date for the fundraising event would be announced one Lungu is put to rest.
Kanguya has since sent a message of condolences on behalf of the cultural association and the nation at large.
Kanguya has however assured patrons that had bought tickets that they remain valid, adding that any inconveniences caused is deeply regretted.
The dinner dance was scheduled to take place at the government complex in Lusaka.
