June 30, 2024 – Police in Luanshya District arrested a 63-year-old man in connection with the offence of Defilement of an Imbecile.
Police investigations revealed that on June 14, 2024 around 16:00 hours, Frank Chiti was found by two women in a comprising state with the girl in Maposa Farming area within Luanshya District.
It is alleged that the girl was lying on the ground while the suspect was in a kneeling position near to the girl with an unzipped pair of trousers.
The two women later alerted members of the public who apprehended the suspect together with the victim and handed them over to Police.
Members of the public identified the victim as an Imbecile aged 14 of Maposa area.
She is currently undergoing medical examinationd at Thompson General Hospital while the suspect is detained in Police custody.
