LUANSHYA MAN DIES WHILE ON ‘TOP’

(ZANIS) A 62-year-old man has died in Mpongwe on the Copperbelt, allegedly during a sexual encounter with a woman at a named guest house.

Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer MWALA YUYI has confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as SHONGE SINALINGA of Luanshya.

Mr. YUYI said Mr. SINALINGA checked into the guest house on Saturday, January 24, 2026, in the company of a woman identified as PAMELA CHIWALA, aged 50.

He explained that Mr. SINALINGA was discovered dead on Sunday, January 25, 2026, by workers at the guest house.

Mr. YUYI said the body was discovered by the receptionist, who had gone to check on Mr. SINALINGA after he earlier complained of poor air circulation in his room.

He said Mr. SINALINGA was found naked, lying on his back on the bed.

Mr. YUYI said the woman who had been with Mr. SINALINGA attempted to flee after the discovery, but was apprehended and the matter was reported to Masaiti Police Station.

He added that the woman has since been detained to assist police with investigations.
