A 48-year-old man, Wisdom Maseka, from Lusaka’s Kabwata Site and Service, has been arrested for allegedly defrauding twenty-five individuals of a total of K361,777.
Maseka reportedly claimed to be the Director of Guangzhou Roofing Company and is accused of collecting money from customers under the pretense of supplying iron sheets, which he failed to deliver.
According to Police Public Relations Officer Rae Hamoonga, the alleged fraudulent activities took place between January and May 2024 at Buseko Market in Lusaka.
The 25 victims who have reported the matter allege that Maseka consistently avoided them whenever they attempted to collect their roofing sheets from his shop.

He is currently in custody and awaiting his court appearance.
Officer Hamoonga has called on any additional victims of similar frauds or those with more information about the case to come forward and aid the ongoing investigation.
