Lusaka media ladies team wire Judiciary 7 – 0
…as their male counterparts draw 1-1
It rained goals on a rainy Saturday afternoon in the showgrounds when the ladies media team outplayed the Judiciary ladies team in a game of football.
The Francis Chipalo and Alain Kabinda ladies tutored media team found the back of the net within five minutes of the first half, before adding another goal two minutes after.
The scribes, bubbling with confidence dominated play in the entire first half, dribbling their opponents who appeared not to know what was happening during the match played at the National Assembly grounds, to the amusement of spectators.
The ladies in the media proved that they were not only good in writing stories, but also good on the pitch.
The team consists of journalists from both public and private institutions who have come together for a common cause.
As the game went on half time, the female scribes supported by their male counterparts led by Logic Lukwanda were already 4 nill up.
At the resumption of the second half, the scribes added two more goals behind their opponent’ net and thereby assuring a 7 nill victory, much to the happiness of the coaching bench, who by the final whistle were enjoying “cold ones” in celebration of the victory.
The press ladies haven’t played a game in about five months despite recording the victory. Not believing the result, the judiciary team has since requested for a rematch which the scribes have welcomed.
Meanwhile, the male teams from both side played a 1-1 draw in the match played at the same pitch.
The scribes dominated played on a muddy pitch and could have collected the maximum results if it wasn’t for a silly defensive error in the last minutes of the game.
By press time, the two teams were networking on a social level in the line with the agenda behind such games.
Congratulations to the Lusaka ladies media team for the sweet victory Kwamana.
