Zesco burns kill Lusaka youth
A LUSAKA youth has died from burns he sustained as he tried to steal cables from a Zesco sub-station at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) last Wednesday.
Moses Mwila, 16, suffered burns to his face, rear and front parts of his body as well as his arms which medics calculated to be 37 per cent burns.
He was admitted to the UTH from Wednesday but died in the early hours of today.
UTH spokesperson Natalie Mashikolo confirmed Mwila’s death to Kalemba this morning.
It is reported that Mwila had been in the company of colleagues when they attempted to steal from the sub-station but they fled after the misfortune.
His attempted theft plunged several hospital departments into darkness.
