MAINZA CONFIDENT IN UPND ELECTORAL PROCESS

Aspiring candidate for Monze Central, Elvis Mainza, says he has confidence in the electoral process of the UPND as the party conducts primary elections to adopt leaders at different levels.

Mainza said under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema, transparency remains key.

He said in Monze Central Constituency on Tuesday, after attending the funeral of a community member at Hufwa-Hamapande Ward in Hachisala’s village, the home of his grandfather, that President Hichilema and his team are a government concerned with addressing the needs of the people.

He said the party leadership will ensure that deserving aspiring candidates are selected, especially those who are popular on the ground in their respective constituencies.

Mainza said leaders who have the interests of the people at heart and are taking development to all corners of the country remain a priority, hence the strengthening and increase of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to K40 million.

He said the CDF is one of the major components the President is using to ensure development reaches people in their communities.

“President Hichilema has taken development to the people through increasing the CDF to K40 million, and the benefits are being felt at the grassroots level,” he said.

Mainza said the other biggest gift President Hichilema has given to the Zambian people is free education, which will benefit generations to come.

“The President wants all children in our communities to be in school. He wants every child to be given an opportunity to get an education,” Mainza said.

He said in the five years President Hichilema has been in power, Zambia has seen unprecedented growth in every sector of the economy.

Mainza said President Hichilema has achieved his vision of making Zambia a better place than it was before.

“We need to give President Hichilema more votes than he got in the 2021 general elections as Monze Central because he has turned around our economy and we want him to finish his projects for our beloved country Zambia,” he said.

He urged the community to promote unity as the country heads towards elections, embracing the spirit of “One Zambia, One Nation” which the President has continued to preach.
