Patriotic Front (PF) Presidential Aspirant Makebi Zulu has reaffirmed that he remains firmly in the 2026 presidential contest.
This clarification is contained in a statement released on Saturday by his spokesperson, Mr Isaac Nsoneka.
Mr Nsoneka emphasised that reports suggesting Mr Zulu’s withdrawal are false and misleading.
He stressed that Mr Zulu continues to command strong support and is determined to deliver change.
Mr Nsoneka highlighted that certain individuals have deliberately misrepresented Mr Zulu’s recent remarks.
He explained that the aspirant’s call for unity within the opposition has been twisted by detractors.
Mr Nsoneka underscored that leadership, in Mr Zulu’s view, is about service to the nation rather than personal ambition.
He reiterated that Mr Zulu will be on the ballot in the August 2026 Presidential Election.
Mr Nsoneka pointed out that the candidate’s willingness to make sacrifices reflects his commitment to democratic values.
He affirmed that Mr Zulu remains dedicated to rescuing Zambia from governance challenges and economic hardship.
Mr Nsoneka stressed that Makebi Zulu’s leadership is rooted in maturity, discipline, and national interest.
