MALANJI’s Helicopters, Houses forfeited

By Hannock Kasama

Former Foreign Affairs Minister JOSEPH MALANJI’s two helicopters and three houses in LUSAKA’s Silverest area deemed to be proceeds of crime have been forfeited to the state.

The order of forfeiture has been delivered by LUSAKA Acting Resident Magistrate IRENE WISHIMANGA today.

This comes on the backdrop of the application filed by the state shortly after Mr. MALANJI was incarcerated for possession of properties deemed to be proceeds of crime.

Mr. MALANJI has been handed a four year sentence after being found guilty on seven out of eight counts of possessing properties deemed to be proceeds of crime.

It was alleged that Mr. MALANJI possessed two helicopters namely BELL 430 and BELL 206 deemed to be proceeds of crime.
