A 17-year-old victim of Kalomo district in Southern Province has finally succeeded in escaping from her 50-year-old biological father’s s£xual abuse in a bitter sw££t turn of events , following his d£ath.
The victim remains free, but pr£gnant for her father who di£d in hospital after a failed attempt of trying to escape by jumping from a moving police vehicle.
Laston Jiisi decided to jump out of the moving police vehicle after being arrested for inc£st.
The deceased suspect is believed to have started a s£xual relationship with his daughter last year, which was known about by his wife and relatives.
However, family discussions suggested that the incident be kept a secret, but the victim could not handle the trauma any longer and reported the incident to the neighborhood watch.
Southern Province commanding officer Auxensio Daka said the inc€st incident was reported by a neighborhood watch officer.
“Brief facts of the matter are that the victim was being s£xually abused by the suspect, her biological father from the period between 2023 and 2024, prompting her to escape from her parent’s home and seek refuge at the sister in law to her father’s house. However, the father still used to persistently force the victim to return home and even attacked his sister in law for keeping her (victim),” he said.
He explained that she had informed her mother about the abus£ and the matter was tabled by the relatives to her father who suggested that everyone should keep quiet about it.
Mr Daka said on February 13th, this year, the suspect got a slasher and threatened to k!ll the victim who went and made the report to the neighborhood watch officer.
“The father was then apprehended by the neighborhood watch officers and later reported the matter to Police. Acting on the matter, officers rushed to the scene and apprehended the suspect. However, on the way to the Police station, the suspect who was in handcuffs, managed to jump out of the moving vehicle and ended up sustaining severe multiple body injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died,” he said.
