A 32-year-old woman from the Nega-Nega area in Chikankata has been physically and sexually assaulted by her former boyfriend after she was found in bed with her new lover.
On 13th October 2024, around 20:00 hours, the victim, in the company of her boyfriend, went to attend a crusade for the Seventh Day Adventist Church near Neganega market.
Around 23.00 hours, the couple went to her home with the boyfriend and retired to bed.
However, the woman’s former boyfriend bashed the door and went in, ordering the other man to leave, and when he resisted, he started beating him and grabbed his two phones.
The boyfriend of the lady later ran away, leaving the woman in her victim’s house.
Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, says the woman’s former boyfriend proceeded to assault and rape her on account of leaving him.
An arrest has not been made yet.
