This is in a matter were 31-year-old Gift Ng’andu, a Resident of West Villa, stood charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm, contrary to Section 248 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Particulars of the offence are that on 20th September, 2023, Ng’andu assaulted Firoz Kasozwe using an iron-bar as he was apparently trying to defend himself from five persons who attempted to attack.
The assaulted individual later got a Police Report and Medical Documentation indicating that he was assaulted by the now convicted individual.
In delivering judgement, Magistrate Boyd Nyambe slapped a two-year custodial sentence with hard labour on Ng’andu who admitted to inflicting assault on Kasozwe.
