POLICE on the Copperbelt have launched investigations into the murder of a Grizzly Mining manager in Lufwanyama District, who was killed by criminals that also stole his three vehicles.
Copperbelt Province police commanding officer Mwala Yuyi confirmed the incident, identifying the victim as Michael Chilufya.
He said the murder occurred between November 30 and December 4 this year.
Mr Yuyi explained that the victim’s family, who live outside Kalulushi, became concerned after failing to reach him on phone for several days.
They asked a friend to check on him, leading to the discovery of his body.
“The victim was found dead in his flowerbed outside his house with his kitchen door wide open. It is believed that he was staying with another man whose whereabouts remain unknown. They were both last seen in church on Sunday,” Mr Yuyi said.
He added that the victim’s friend reported the matter to Kalulushi Police Station.
Officers who visited the crime scene found the kitchen door open, the security camera removed, and the bedroom door damaged with drawers opened, indicating that criminals were searching for valuables.
