Masked Men Steal K357,000 in Choma

Armed criminals have stolen more than K357,000 in cash from a named bakery in Choma, Southern Province.

Southern Province Police Commanding Officer MOONO NAMALONGO has confirmed the incident, which occurred on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at around 23:20 hours.

Mr. NAMALONGO said that on the day in question, three masked men armed with a taser gun and machetes attacked workers at the bakery before fleeing with the money.

He said during the attack, one worker was assaulted and sustained machete injuries.

Mr. NAMALONGO said no arrests have been made so far, and investigations are continuing.
