By Francis Chipalo

UPND media director Mark Simuwe says the media plays a critical role in highlighting the ruling party’s achievements in line with it’s campaign promises.

And Simuwe says President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration has scored various positive achievements in the four years of being in power.

Under the leadership of Simuwe, the UPND media team is having back – to – back press briefings in an effort of updating the nation it’s achievements in various sectors.

Simuwe says the ruling party considers the media as a key partner in keeping Zambians informed and updated on developmental projects being undertaken in different parts of the country.

“We do not take your presence for granted because we know that you have other source you can cover, so we appreciate your efforts, otherwise we would be speaking to ourselves without you,” Simuwe said.

And Simuwe says in order for Lusaka – based journalists have factual information on developmental projects being done on the Copperbelt province, the media will be soon to be taken for a visit (s) in that province.

He stated that President Hichilema is committed to changing the status of the province due to its position and economic potential being a mining region.

Simuwe says President Hichilema has among others, prioritized infrastructure development such as a good road network as a key developmental driving factor in Copperbelt.

Meanwhile, Simuwe added that tremendous progress has been made in upgrading various township roads in the province, further stating that Zambians elsewhere need to see the projects government is doing through an informed press to avoid misinformation.
