Min.of Education elated by ZICTA’ eLearning platform

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has expressed delight ZICTA’s electronic (eLearning) platform that has been launched today.

In an effort to advance ICTs in Zambia’s education sector, ZICTA has launched the platform which can be accessed via the Google platform.

The eLearning platform has been developed alongside a digital curriculum content for specific grades.

The platform is currently available for secondary school grades 10 – 12 where the communications authority said had observed gaps.

Over 9,000 learners as well as about 1,400 teachers are reportedly currently enjoying the service.

Speaking during the launch this morning, ZICTA’s director general Engineer Collins Mbulo described the platform as a game changer in Information Communications and Technology (ICT) in schools.

Eng. Mbulo said the platform symbolizes the authority’s commitment towards transformation in Zambia’s education system.

He said ZICTA will embark on various national wide campaign to raise awareness so that no one is left behind.

“The platform is not just about education, but quality education for all Zambian learners,” he said.

Speaking at the same event, Ministry of Education permanent secretary -Educational Services Dr Kelvin Mambwe who spoke through Professor Brenda Musanya said the platform will enable the ministry take education to all children across the country.

Prof. Musanya said the attainment of education is being actualized, stating that the step by ZICTA is timely.

She however urged teachers to ensure that every learner has access to the platform.

The platform has been developed by Zambians for the Zambian people.
